Fun Fall Activities to do with your pet

Fall is here and with it crisp cool mornings that give even the laziest of pets a little kick in their step. The smell of apple cider and pumpkin spice is abundant and your pets are just as excited for this time a year as you are.

Fall is here and with it crisp cool mornings that give even the laziest of pets a little kick in their step. The smell of apple cider and pumpkin spice is abundant and your pets are just as excited for this time a year as you are. So what fun activities can you do this season that will also keep your furry best friend happy and by your side.

  • Catnip Party

You might be scratching your head wondering is a catnip party what I think it is? Yes. Yes it is. What better way to get your cats excited for the seasons changing than tossing catnip all over the floor for them to roll around in. Throw a couple of their favorite toys into the mix and your cats guaranteed to have the best fall of their life!

  • Leaves. Dog's best friend?

As the seasons change and the trees shed their leaves your yard will easily be overtaken by fall. So what better way to make yard work fun then involving your furry companion. Raking leaves into small piles to jump into can be fun for you and your pet! There's nothing quite like the look of pure joy on a pet's face as they romp through piles of leaves. But you can actually make it even more exciting by hiding their favorite toys for them to seek. Not only a great way to tire your pets out but also a way to keep their brains in tip top shape.

  • Impromptu Photoshoot

Now that you’re both sufficiently covered in leaves why not break out the camera to capture the moment! If there's one thing we can take away from 2020 it's how precious time is and these are the moments you’re going to want to be able to look back on and smile.

  • Enjoy Mother Nature

Living in Florida we are super lucky to have access to some amazing trails and waterways! As the weather starts to cool, taking your pup for a hike through any of the pet friendly trails available is sure to be a great time! Taking your pups boating to enjoy the fresh air can be another great outdoor activity! Just don’t forget the life jackets!

  • Lazy Afternoons

Get a jumpstart on your favorite holiday movies and make a marathon out of it with your pet. Nothing beats being snuggled up under a fluffy blanket with your pet by your side and Die Hard on the TV. After all who doesn’t love Bruce Willis and a belly rub. If your dog or cat is anything like mine they probably will always enjoy a lazy day with you on the couch which makes this the perfect activity.

  • Apple Picking

Apple picking is one activity that unfortunately isn’t really local to us! But a quick trip over the Georgia line and you and your pup can pick to your heart's content! But if road tripping isn’t an option while we might not have Apples we definitely have our fair share of Pumpkins. Visiting the Pumpkin Patch doesn’t have to only be for Halloween fun and fresh pumpkins can be turned into a variety of human and pet treats!

  • Baking Anyone?

Now that you have your pumpkins you can whip up something extra special for your pet.

All you need is:

  • 2 cups of pumpkin
  • 2 Eggs
  • 3 Tablespoons of Peanut Butter
  • 3-4 cups of Oat Flour
  • ½ teaspoons of cinnamon

Leaving your flour and cinnamon to the side whisk all your ingredients together. Once thoroughly mixed, fold in your oat flour and cinnamon. Keep adding additional flour until dough is no longer sticky to the touch.

Now that you have your dough you're ready to roll it out and cut into your desired shapes. Bake at 350 degrees for about 15-20 minutes or until cookies are crisp.

We all know 2020 has been one for the books so what better way to end the year than just relaxing with your fluffy best friend. One thing is for sure doing any or all of these activities will ensure you and your pet will have the best season yet!
