Moving to a new home can be stressful. Between all the packing, cleaning, and actual moving it can be physically and mentally exhausting. If you have pets it only adds to your list of worries and concerns. That's why we’re here with some tips and tricks to make moving with your pets just a little easier.

Packing can be a real headache and unpacking can be even worse. When packing for your pets it's important to first set aside their everyday necessities so you’re not constantly tearing through your already packed away boxes. Setting aside food, treats, waste bags, a favorite toy, and their leash are sure to help make things just a little bit easier. Making sure you also have enough litter in your current home and some set aside for your new home are also important. Anything to keep you and your pets stress level low and the transition smoother. For the rest of their belongings make sure to label what's inside and keep it in your pets designated area this way when the move takes place it doesn't get mixed in with everything else ensuring your pets needs in their new home are easily met.

The big day has arrived and it's time to actually start your move. During a move people are coming and going and doors all over are being left open. There's nothing worse than your pet becoming lost in the chaos. Keeping your pets in their crate or in one room during this time is essential to keeping them safe. Leaving their room for last in the move ensures they stay safe and secure. Putting a TV on or having music playing can also help to keep your pets distracted from the hustle and bustle happening outside their little oasis. It's a good idea to go a step further by placing a sign on the outside of their room to remind people not to open the door in case of panicked escapees. Making sure your pets are wearing their collars and ID tags in case the worst does occur will make sure you can be easily reunited with your furry friend. Of course keeping them secure and out of the way will keep them the safest.

Anxiety will be your pets biggest problem during a big change like moving. Similarly to humans change is hard and for our pets it can be even more challenging. Using CBD oil during this stressful time can be incredibly helpful for your animals. CBD is a supplement that when introduced to the body automatically knows where it's needed and starts its job at fixing the problem. When interacting with the receptors in the brain it's been said to help with serotonin signals which are essential when alleviating anxiety and aggressive tendencies. So for pets who are in a more stressful situation or even those who are usually more high strung, CBD oil can help them to relax and make it through this particular stressor. The help CBD can provide is by giving these animals an overall sense of calm and wellbeing while also ensuring an easier transition to their new home.

Now it's time to finally settle into your new home. It's a smart idea to first pet-proof your new home. Making sure any electrical cords and plugs are safely tucked away from where your pet can reach them, ensuring all windows have secure screens and of course removing any toxic plants from or around the yard while also making sure all fences are closed and secure. It's also important to remember cleaning products are put away so as to not harm your more curious pets. Packing materials like tape, string or rope, and packing peanuts can also be detrimental to your pets health and should be removed.

When bringing your pets into their new home it's important to make sure they have a place set aside for them to get comfortable. Cats especially need to know where their litter trays are and that they have a safe play to hide in if needed. Continuing the CBD oil while your pets get acclimated will help to make this transition just a bit easier. But more importantly once the hard part is done you can kick back and relax with your pets in your new home.
