New Year (Feelin’ 22)

2021 is officially over! What better way to start the year off on the right paw than with some New Year’s resolutions. We don’t mean with our own, we asked our favorite Dog and Cat what they’re most looking forward to accomplishing in this brand new year!

2021 is officially over! What better way to start the year off on the right paw than with some New Year’s resolutions. We don’t mean with our own, we asked our favorite Dog and Cat what they’re most looking forward to accomplishing in this brand new year!

The Cat

  1. Household Domination
Normally, I would be striving for world domination, but I think I need a more manageable goal. I’ll settle for domination over the Dog and my human companions.
  2. Get more exercise
Of course, by exercise I mean that I will continue to try to escape so I can run around outside, frolic with other cats, and go fishing.
  3. Nap in the Sun
I sometimes get so focused on my other dreams that I forget what is important: lying in a warm sunny spot near my favorite window.
  4. Find new ways to play with my humans
This year we have had loads of fun knocking things off of counters, laying on my humans hands while they were working on their warm computers, and playing with candles while my humans scream in joy. I want to find new, fun ways for us to spend time together as we move into 2022.

The Dog

  1. I will become best friends with the Louise’s delivery driver
I keep barking to let them know I want to be their best friend but they still only give me a quick smile and wave.
  2. I will become besties with the cat
We have made such progress this year. The cat is willing to be in the same room as me and sometimes will let me sit near him. I know I will win over the cat this year so we can nap in the cat’s favorite sunny spot together.
  3. I am going to focus on my dental hygiene
My human keeps telling me my breath stinks (and I know it can’t be from my trips to the litter box) so I am going to be more diligent about chewing on the bones that I got for Christmas.
  4. Become more flexible
I will focus on my yoga practice so I can extend my reach. Sometimes for fun my human likes to put things really far back on the counter or high up on the fridge. I am too ashamed to tell her that I am not stretchy enough to reach it and she hasn’t seemed to notice that she is making it too hard for me.
  5. Finally destroy my nemesis, the vacuum cleaner
I’m going to get that sneaky guy this year!

Okay, Dog, those are certainly some good goals and Cat, we may need to have a chat in private and possibly consider therapy. However, it is the year of the Tiger so we will give you a pass this year. We hope everyone has a safe and happy new year!
